In his many years of legislative service Roger Goodman has thus far sponsored a total of 234 bills, with the language from 115 of those bills enacted into law. This is a remarkable achievement, given that only 10 to 15 percent of all bills introduced in the Legislature actually become law. With his 49% average, Roger ranks as one of the most effective and prolific legislators in the United States. Roger has led the Legislature to enact significant, landmark reforms, including rewriting the state’s domestic violence laws and DUI laws, establishing a statewide entitlement to high-quality pre-school, and strengthening the law relating to police use of deadly force, among many other measures.
